They will last as long as you take care of them as previously answered. If you no longer wish to keep your Flourish flowers, you may dispose of them in the normal trash.
Once the flowers have been procured, they are dried in non-toxic silica. The flowers are sifted and remaining silica is gently brushed off. It is common to find trace silica on the flower that may later transfer to the bottom of the satchel or container. Sometimes trying to remove excess silica stuck to a flower will cause damage and so the silica remains.
The whole flower drying process can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks depending on how much moisture the flower naturally retains.
Other drying methods include hang drying and dehydration.
Add approximately 5-10 drops to your dried flowers:
Let the oils completely dry before adding more drops or closing item with top or lid.
Do not use on flowers preserved in shadowboxes, glass vials, or any other completely enclosed Flourish product.
Flourish products are recommended for external decorative or craft uses only. Using Flourish flowers in diffusers, candles or any type of homemade body care products, etc. is done so at your own risk. Do not ingest any Flourish products at all!
Yes, no pesticides, insecticides or any other products were used to control the insects or increase growth or production of our flowers. Good old fashion hand-pulled weeding, pollinators, and my free range chickens helped with all grown and wildflowers.
Flourish flowers are either grown in outdoor gardens, indoor pots, or growing wild on our Southern Maryland property.
We support other small businesses and if we buy their flowers and use them in our products, we always give credit to that business on our label and wherever else we can to be fully transparent.
Every single flower is selected and curated by Michelle. To protect the natural life cycle of the flowers, senescence, and allow as many pollinator and environmental benefits to occur, flowers are only cut once they show signs of wilting or fading, if the bloom has not already separated naturally from the flower itself. Additionally, all blooms from a plant will never be harvested at one time.

Crystals will tell you when they have absorbed too much moisture and they need to be reactivated. Their color will change from orange to green/dark green. To reactivate, start by spreading a thin layer of silica gel crystals in a metal pan or baking sheet. Place the metal pan or baking sheet in an over at 175-200 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 15 minutes. Check on silica gel crystals and when they return to their original orange color. Allow them to fully cool before storing them in their original packaging or plastic sealing bag. *Crystals will be hot, use caution when handling. Too thick of a silica gel crystal layer will not allow moisture to be removed evenly. Drying times and temperatures may also vary.
